Go Down Rockin (Ire) 2021

Placed on all three occasions in Irish points for Colin Bowe either side of Christmas, Go Down Rockin improved with each run to be narrowly touched off last time out.  The 5yo had the race at Dungarvan wrapped-up in January displaying loads of scope only to lose concentration and make a jumping error costing him victory.  I bought him soon after at auction from Colin Bowe.

A couple of winners have already come from way down the field of this race so it looks a worthy piece of form and as you can see from the photo he is a big scopey gelding by Champion Sire, Walk In The Park.

He has had a lovely summer break here at Webb Hill Farm and is back in work.

P2P.ie said the following:

Go Down Rockin made a respectable career debut by finishing a somewhat fortunate second on his debut at Kirkistown in November, whilst he then acquitted himself by finishing fourth behind Dream On Mick at Tinahely two weeks ago. The son of Walk In The Park, a E32,000 acquisition as a yearling at the 2022 Tattersalls Ireland February sale, that is a brother to two track winners out of a half-sister to Grade 2 placed chaser Medical Card, was always positioned close to the pace on the outer here, and he made his way to the front before two out. He held a three-length advantage approaching the last and appeared the most likely winner at this stage, but he made a notable blunder here. He was duly overtaken 100 yards out, and his final-fence error certainly aided the cause of the eventual winner. This was, though, a massive step in the right direction and the bay, who also traces back to the staying hurdling mare What A Question, should easily atone in the very near future before going on to make his presence felt on the racetrack next term.
