Riptide (Ire) 2022

Riptide is a 4yo gelding by Galileo Chrome and an Irish maiden winner on his only start for John Staunton showing speed and a great attitude passing two horses gamely on the run-in.  I bought him at the Doncaster May Point-to-Point Sale.

He has had a lovely summer break here at Webb Hill Farm and is back in work.

P2P.ie said the following:

The newcomer Riptide brought up a quick two-timer for Derek OConnor by leading early on the flat to bet De Inovator by two lengths.

Riptide was one of seven newcomers here and the E15,500 graduate of the Goffs Arkle sale, was always close to the pace. The bay hit the front just after the last and was always in command thereafter. A maternal grandson of the Grade 2 hurdles winning mare Shadow Eile (by Beneficial) that herself is an own-sister to Grade 2 bumper winner Corskeagh Royale, he duly returned with two lengths in hand over the runner-up. He appeals as a two and a half mile track type that should develop into a track winner next spring.
