They Call Me Hugo (Ire) 2020

They Call Me Hugo is a 5yo gelding by Doyen who had one run in the Spring for experience in an Irish point at Tinahely from the yard of Harley Dunne who was well down on winners this season.

I bought him on-spec at the new Goresbridge sale in April and brought him to Webb Hill Farm where he enjoyed a summer’s grass.

We ran him in an early season point at the unique Wadebridge track as a four year old where he ran creditably against older horses with plenty of experience under rules.  The winner had some eye-catching form, placed at Fairyhouse and 5th at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting last season.  The third had been placed in two hurdles for Alan King.

Hugo will benefit from that experience and be ready to win next time out.
