Regal Blue is a 5yo who’s pedigree was nurtured over the years by the late Queen and is by French Navy hence the name Regal Blue. He made his only appearance in an Irish point last Spring where he was a promising 4th having been given a positive ride on the front-end. His trainer had a 10% strike rate over the years but only 1 winner in the past 5 seasons. The horse just in front of him won a maiden hurdle over the summer so the form is already working out.

‘REGAL BLUE (IRE) is a newcomer by French Navy that’s a half-brother to two-year-old winner by Dandy Man in the form of Smart Illusion. A big chasing type whose great-grandam Flight Of Fancy finished second in an Epsom Oaks, this fellow was always on the pace until giving way from between the final two fences. He will undoubtedly win his maiden point, but his future is ultimately likely to be in the steeplechase arena and this 2020 Tattersalls Ireland May sale graduate appeals as the type that should ultimately make his mark over the larger obstacles.’
He is in my yard to view and is back in from a summer at grass being prepared for a point-to-point.
