Morandi Second – SOLD
Morandi Second – SOLD
Morandi Gelding
Morandi Second is a scopey three year old who stands at 16’1. He has been really consistent in handicaps in France this season and looks an ideal type to go juvenile hurdling in the months ahead.
His yard had been slow to get going this year (5-82 until the last fortnight), but Morandi Second was running well in defeat in 1m2f handicaps, not getting the best of runs on a couple of occasions.
Fifth at Longchamp at the end of May, he recorded a career-best effort when a close third on his first try over 1m4f at Lion D’Angers on 25th June despite stumbling markedly leaving the stalls. He looked the likely winner for much of the home straight, only to get caught by a couple of wide finishers. Still, it was certainly an improved run, just as his yard are beginning to come into form and the fifth has won since.
He is a full brother to a dual 1m4f winner this year and a half-brother to five further winners, notably last season’s Listed-winning chaser Autorisation. That one had shown little on his sole run on the flat, but won his first two starts over hurdles and has since added five wins over the larger obstacles.
The dam is a half-sister to two black-type performers, including National Hunt sire Tin Horse, so it is a pedigree with plenty of quality.
Please take a look at his Walk & Trot and give me a call to discuss. He is in my yard to view, has already started schooling and showing a great attitude towards it.
Kind regards, Tom
