Cowboy – SOLD

Cowboy is a 3yo gelding who I bought at Newmarket in the Autumn and had him gelded immediately.  He is by Dark Angel out of a mare who was 2nd in the French 1,000 Guineas and 4th in the Falmouth Stakes.

His best run as a 2yo was placed over a mile on the turf at Yarmouth gaining a RPR of 76.  He stayed on well that day after settling in front and making the running in the style of a horse that would get further.  He has had a nice break, is being ridden everyday and will be ready to go on for early season juvenile hurdles.

After having a short winter break, Cowboy was then brought back into work.  He took to schooling over hurdles naturally and since then,  has been at Stuart Kittow’s yard nearby here in Devon where he has got a couple of runs under his belt on the flat as a prep for juvenile hurdles.  We decided to run him at Windsor at the end of May, where the 3yo had a great run coming home third over a 1m3½f, only 2L behind the winner whilst putting in a great fight in the last ½ furlong to take third at the post.  He has also had a second run just three weeks later, again at Windsor over the same trip.

He has schooled well which has led us to entering him in the juvenile hurdle on the 17th of July at Newton Abbot and we are very hopeful of a good run.
