Rathnure Rookie – SOLD

Rathnure Rookie was an owner bred 5yo by Notnowcato, he is a half-brother to the very talented Rathnure Rebel who completely routed the field in his only point to point before selling to Gigginstown House Stud for an undisclosed sum and was one of the favourites for the Albert Bartlett before he met with a problem.

Notnowcato is the sire of Grade 1 horses, Old Guard (Paul Nicholls) and Long Dog (Willie Mullins) and he was handed a tricky task by his trainer who is without a winner for 31 months.  This lad was up against horses from both the Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins yards.  Gordon’s debutante (the winner) being out of a Grade 1 winner and Mr Mullins’ odds-on favourite being placed in three bumpers already.  He raced from the front showing a great attitude.
